The Christmas season, in the order it happens

Christmas is mostly a long list of small jobs: decide what to buy, buy it, wrap it, label it, send the cards, invite people, feed them, and write to say thank you. The templates in this category are arranged around those jobs, so you can print the right page at the right moment instead of improvising each one. Every page is an original design, drawn for this site, with its own illustration and the same four colour themes so that everything you print matches.

Before Christmas: plan and prepare

Giving: wrap, label and make cards

Hosting: invite and feed

How the templates work

  1. Open a template and look at the thumbnail and description.
  2. Press “Load sample data” to see a complete example, then replace it with your own.
  3. Fill in the form. Short fields are for names and titles, and larger boxes take lists, one item per line. Some captions have a small pencil icon that lets you reword them.
  4. Choose a colour theme: classic red and green, winter navy and ice, forest and gold, or berry and cream.
  5. Preview and download the PDF. Print it at 100 percent scale on ordinary paper, or on card stock for tags, cards and coupons.

Tips for a calmer December

  • Start the shopping list in November, while prices are low and there is still time to order from overseas.
  • Write the cards in batches of ten with the address list beside you, and tick them off as they go.
  • Print gift tags on card stock once, then tie them on as you wrap, instead of writing them one at a time.
  • Send invitations three weeks ahead. Christmas diaries fill up faster than any other month.
  • Put the cooking plan on the fridge on Christmas Eve and give each helper their own rows.

Printing notes

All pages are laid out for US Letter paper and print on A4 with “fit to page” selected. Light backgrounds keep ink use low. If your printer cannot print to the edge of the page, the designs are made to look good with a small white margin. For a folded card, use double-sided printing with the short-edge setting.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Christmas templates free?
Yes. You can create and download them without paying and without registering.

Can I use them for a school or a business?
Yes, for ordinary classroom, club, church and small-business use. Please do not resell the artwork as a template or clip art.

Do you keep what I type?
The details are used to build the PDF you download. Include only information that you are comfortable having printed on the page.

Can I change the wording on the pages?
Yes. Most captions have a pencil icon, and titles, greetings and messages are fields you type yourself.

What if I celebrate another holiday?
Many pages work for other occasions, because their text is your own. Look at our gift certificates and calendars for more general designs.

Will there be more Christmas templates?
We add new designs each year. If there is something you would like to see, tell us through the contact page.
