Labels that do a specific job
A good package label helps someone take the next useful step: find a delivery address, match a return to an order, route stock to the right warehouse or notice a handling instruction. This collection separates those jobs rather than dressing one generic label in twenty-four colours. Address layouts prioritise the destination. Returns put the receiving team and reference into context. Supplementary stickers use large wording and original illustrations so an instruction can be noticed before the package is opened.

What the QR code and barcode actually contain
Enter an order, return, job or transfer reference and the label can turn it into a scannable Code 128 barcode and QR code. The two codes share that reference unless you supply different QR contents. For example, keep an order number in the barcode and put your own returns-page address in the QR field. No code is a picture pretending to be scannable. The reference is also printed in readable text beside the barcode so a person can use it without a scanner.
If the reference is blank, the tool derives an internal ID from the entered label details. Repeating the same details produces the same ID; changing the details can change it. Use your own order number when a label must match an existing record. Custom QR contents are limited to 120 UTF-8 bytes so the code remains practical at the supplied sizes. Barcode references use up to sixteen supported letters, digits and simple punctuation. Choose both codes, either code alone or no codes.
A printable label is not prepaid shipping
These templates arrange address information, internal references and handling messages. They do not buy postage, generate a carrier tracking number or replace the label issued when you book a carrier shipment. Use your carrier-issued label for that job. Likewise, an international address label does not create a customs declaration, and a pallet destination label is not a carrier booking or an official logistics identifier.
Handling stickers are supplementary instructions. They do not replace protective packaging, an agreed handling process or any required transport markings. Use the label that accurately describes the package and keep the destination and carrier label unobstructed.
From a short form to a useful print
- Choose the label by its job, not only by its colour.
- Use Load sample data to see a complete example, then replace the demonstration information.
- Enter the address or handling note and a reference that matches your own records.
- Choose the code options. Add custom QR contents only if the default reference is not what you need.
- Preview the PDF and check addresses, references and the code contents.
- Print a test at Actual size / 100%, trim where needed and scan the result before producing a batch.
Choose a size that matches your printer
Most address and dispatch designs use a 4 by 6-inch label. The compact parcel design uses 4 by 2 inches, and the handling stickers use 4 by 3 inches. The single-label PDF has those exact dimensions. Landscape A4 and US Letter options repeat the same label on one sheet with trimming marks. They are plain-paper layouts, not a promise that the artwork matches an arbitrary pre-cut adhesive sheet. Check dimensions before buying stock.
For thermal printing, choose the black-and-white palette, use a matching label size in the driver and keep scaling at 100 percent. Colour palettes are alternatives for colour-capable printers. Keep barcodes and QR codes black on white, including their clear margins. Avoid stretching, cropping, folding or taping glare across the code area. A successful scan from a screen does not replace a test on the actual printed label.
Build a more organised dispatch desk
Keep the same reference across the label and your own order records. Add an invoice or receipt where appropriate, and use a supplementary packing-list marker when documents sit in an outer pouch. Prepare a fresh label when the destination changes, and check reused packaging for old addresses that could confuse a recipient. Clear labelling is a small part of dispatch, but it is one you can make consistent.
Questions before you print
Are the templates free?
Yes. Fill in a template, preview it and download its PDF without creating an account.
Do codes create live tracking?
No. They encode your supplied reference or QR text. Official carrier tracking comes from the carrier, and an internal code needs your own records or systems to be useful.
Do the PDFs have a TemplatesInn watermark?
No. The website logo appears on browsing previews only. Your printable labels contain the template artwork and your details.
Does a sheet contain different customer addresses?
No. The sheet options repeat the same label. Create a new PDF for another recipient; spreadsheet mail merge and batch address imports are not part of this collection.
