Create Warehouse Transfer Label
An internal stock-transfer label with clear origin and destination locations, a transfer reference and a short carton or receiving note.
Moving stock between your own locations still needs a dependable handover. This layout identifies the dispatching warehouse, the receiving location and the reference that links the parcel to your records. Use it alongside your transfer process rather than as a substitute for stock movements or transport bookings.

Name the location, not only the organisation
When both ends share a business name, the warehouse or branch becomes the important distinction. Enter a recognisable origin such as "North / Warehouse A" and a destination such as "North / Warehouse B," then include the actual addresses. Do not rely on an internal nickname that a driver or temporary receiving employee will not understand. The note can give a short carton count or receiving desk. Keep route schedules, transfer approvals and longer instructions with the appropriate operational records so the package label can be understood at a glance.
Match the physical handover with the transfer record
Use the transfer identifier already assigned by your business. A label generated with a new automatic ID will not automatically correspond to an existing stock record. Check the item quantities through your normal procedure, then use the label to keep the packages recognisable during movement. For several cartons, give each a complete destination and a useful number in the note. This form does not allocate inventory, confirm receipt or adjust quantities at either warehouse. A person or system still needs to perform those steps using the actual transfer information.
Before stock leaves the origin
- Distinguish the origin and receiving warehouse by name.
- Enter complete addresses even for internal moves.
- Use the agreed transfer reference.
- Check carton notes against the transfer paperwork.
- Confirm the receiving location can accept the goods.
Scan a transfer number your records already know
A barcode can make a short transfer reference easier to enter into your own process. Scanning alone does not post a warehouse receipt or update an inventory balance. Keep QR contents the same as the reference unless your team has a reason to use a different value. If you link to instructions, make sure the people using the label can access that destination.
The generator creates QR codes and Code 128 barcodes locally. Both use your reference by default; optional custom QR text can instead contain your own short URL or text. A blank reference produces a stable internal ID derived from the submitted label details. These are your identifiers, not official carrier tracking numbers. The tool does not buy postage, reserve a shipment or send the encoded data to a code-generation service.
Print for the actual receiving environment
The 4 by 6-inch label gives the destination and transfer note distinct areas. Test the small text on the printer your dispatch team actually uses, not only on an office screen. The black-and-white palette is suitable for a monochrome workflow; alternative accents do not alter the code colours. A4 and Letter sheets repeat the same transfer details, so they are useful for duplicate copies rather than a batch of different moves. Print landscape at actual size, trim to the outside marks and confirm a scanned reference matches the paper record.
Warehouse transfer questions
Does this update inventory automatically?
No. The template creates a label document and codes. Stock allocation, dispatch confirmation, receiving and quantity updates remain in your inventory system or manual transfer procedure.
Can several boxes share one transfer number?
Yes, if that matches your records. Use the note to identify the individual carton and generate each numbered version separately. The repeated sheet copies the current label without automatically changing numbers.
