Create Packing List Enclosed Label
A document-pocket marker with an original paper illustration, an order reference and optional codes to help identify the enclosed packing list.
When paperwork sits in an outer pouch, a clear marker can save a receiving team from searching the box. This label points to the presence of a packing list and can connect it with an order reference. It marks the documents; it does not generate or check the packing list itself.

Make the label agree with the pouch
Use the marker only when the stated document is actually enclosed. Attach it near the document pocket without covering the part a receiver needs to open or read. A short note can repeat the order reference or say where the paperwork is located. If the packet contains several different documents, identify them through your own paperwork rather than using the fixed packing-list heading to imply something inaccurate. The marker is a small aid to finding a document, not a replacement for the document's item descriptions, quantities or business details.
Keep the paper record connected to the parcel
Compare the order reference on the label with the number on the actual packing list before sealing the pouch. This is particularly useful at a packing desk preparing several similar orders. The label does not retrieve order lines or reconcile the list with the contents. A person or your existing system still needs to check those details. If you revise the packing list after preparing the sticker, review the reference and note again. Keep confidential paperwork handled through your own appropriate process rather than exposing it simply because a document marker is available.
A document-pocket checklist
- Confirm a packing list is really enclosed.
- Match the reference to the paper document.
- Keep the pouch opening usable.
- Avoid covering the destination or carrier label.
- Review the sticker after any paperwork changes.
A scannable pointer to the right order
The reference code can help receiving staff enter an order number without retyping it. It does not contain the whole packing list unless you deliberately encode suitable short text, and it does not automatically retrieve a document. If your QR points to a page, check what a recipient can access and avoid private account links. Keep the printed reference available for people who work directly from the paper list.
The generator creates QR codes and Code 128 barcodes locally. Both use your reference by default; optional custom QR text can instead contain your own short URL or text. A blank reference produces a stable internal ID derived from the submitted label details. These are your identifiers, not official carrier tracking numbers. The tool does not buy postage, reserve a shipment or send the encoded data to a code-generation service.
Print the marker for the actual pouch area
The single sticker is 4 by 3 inches. Check that its size works with your document pocket and intended placement before printing a batch. Landscape A4 and Letter formats repeat the same marker with cut guides, so they are useful for identical references rather than several different orders at once. Print at 100 percent, trim outside the artwork and test the code if enabled. A paper test can also show whether the label leaves the pouch practical to open. Choose materials suited to the exterior packaging through your own packing process.
Packing-list marker questions
Does this create the packing list too?
No. Prepare the packing list in your own order or document system. This template creates an exterior marker with a reference and short note so the receiving team can identify where that document is enclosed.
Can the QR link to a digital packing list?
Yes, if you provide an appropriate short URL and recipients can access it. The generator does not host the document, create permissions or fetch a packing list from your business records.
