Create Standard 4 x 6 Shipping Address Label
A straightforward 4 by 6-inch address label with a prominent recipient, clear sender details and optional machine-readable order references.
Use this layout when the main job is simply to make a package destination easy to find. It separates the person or business receiving the parcel from the sender, then keeps your reference and short note in a lower working area. The black-and-white palette suits a practical dispatch desk.

Put the destination before the decoration
A useful parcel address can be read without interpreting a design. Enter the recipient name as the main destination and put the complete street, town, postal code and country information in the address field. A business name can sit with the recipient if it helps identify the delivery point. Avoid replacing a building number with an instruction such as "the blue door"; keep the real address complete and use the note for a short clarification. The larger destination type is intentional, while the smaller sender section still provides a recognisable return contact.
Use a reference that belongs to your workflow
An order number is most useful when it matches a record you already keep. If a packing team calls the order ORD-10482, use that value consistently on the label and in its paperwork. The template does not look up an order, confirm an address or create a delivery booking. It prints what you enter. Before making a batch, compare the name and destination with the source order rather than relying on a remembered address. A saved PDF can be reprinted, but a changed destination calls for a freshly checked file.
A dispatch proof before the parcel leaves
- Compare the destination with the original order.
- Include the full postal code and any needed country.
- Use a sender address that can identify your business.
- Check the reference against your own records.
- Keep supplementary instructions outside the address itself.
Give a simple order number a scannable companion
The standard layout prints the reference in text as well as encoding it. This helps a person check the parcel when no scanner is available. Leave custom QR contents blank when both codes should identify the same order. If you add a URL instead, make sure it is a page you intend recipients to visit, not a private administrative link.
The generator creates QR codes and Code 128 barcodes locally. Both use your reference by default; optional custom QR text can instead contain your own short URL or text. A blank reference produces a stable internal ID derived from the submitted label details. These are your identifiers, not official carrier tracking numbers. The tool does not buy postage, reserve a shipment or send the encoded data to a code-generation service.
Print the 4 by 6 layout at its actual size
Choose the single-label PDF for a matching 4 by 6-inch printer setup. For an ordinary home printer, the A4 or US Letter option repeats the same label on a landscape sheet with cut marks. These sheets are for trimming rather than an unverified adhesive grid. Print one copy at 100 percent and check both the small sender text and a scan of the codes. Clear margins around codes are part of their usable area, not space to trim away.
Standard address label questions
Does this label pay for delivery?
No. It creates an address and reference document. Buy or book the shipping service through your carrier and use the official postage or shipment label it provides. This template does not generate carrier tracking.
Can I enter another country's address?
Yes. Include the full address and destination country in the address field. If you routinely need more emphasis on the country, the dedicated international address label offers a more explicit starting point.
